Compounds are where most western expats in Dubai reside. A compound is a residential neighborhood where all entries and exits are protected. This may appear to be a negative statement, yet it is not.

Within the compounds, it feels like a typical residential neighborhood where you may live comfortably while adhering to Western norms and values. The amenities accessible may vary every complex, however, in most cases, you will have access to all of them. The way of living there can be so comfortable that many individuals make the comparison between a complex and a vacation park.

Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim:

  • Pros: Central  location, good location for families with children who want to live close to the middle.
  • Cons: Many villas in this area are a bit older and not all equally well maintained.

Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim fall under the beach lifestyle category. In these two areas in Dubai, you will find several compounds that mostly consist of villas. In most of the compounds in this area, you will find swimming pools, parks, restaurants, gyms etc. These areas largely form the beach area of ​​Dubai; therefore, this area is a real top location for beach lovers.

 

Arabian Ranches, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Victory Heights, Motor City:

  • Pros: plenty of room and serenity. This location is ideal for families with dogs and children.
  • Cons: It is located outside of the city core and is not accessible by metro. It is not suggested for those who do not have access to a vehicle.

The Arabian Ranches consist of 3 locations. The first Arabian ranches branch is a community-based option that is located on golf. However, Arabian Ranches 2/3 are also community-based      but without the golf facility.  Living in these locations outside of the city core can be pleasant depending on your lifestyle. All these places are located between the Al Khail roundabout and the E66. There are several townhouses and detached homes in this area. There are other less expensive apartment complexes in Motor City. Expats choose this region because of the huge properties with gardens and reduced pricing compared to Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim, and Palm Jumeirah.

 

 

Palm Jumeirah:

  • Pros: Island life with beautiful ocean views, a tranquil setting and a lot  of greenery.
  • Cons: If you don’t have the right budget, living here can be costly.

  This beautiful Island also falls under the beach category. Expats flock to this man-made island in massive numbers. This palm-tree-shaped island is one of Dubai’s most well-known images and is well-known among expats. There are two types of residences available here: medium-sized flats and villas, both of which commonly have a swimming pool and a private beach. This location is ideal for young couples, families, and beach enthusiasts.
